WAVERLY, Iowa – Both the men and women finished fourth of six teams at the Wartburg Outdoor Select. The Mustangs were led by first place finishes in multiple events.

Connor Christophersen (JR/Cedar Rapids, Iowa) finished first in the 400 Meters with a personal best time of 49.97. Colton Forster (SR/Marion, Iowa) finished on top in the 5000 Meters (16:10.60). Luke Nickelson (JR/Nipomo, Calif) finished in first place with a mark of 6.61m in the Long Jump. On the women's side, Kathryn Vander Poel (SR/Bakersfield, Calif.) stood atop the podium in the 800 Meters (2.19.40). In the 5000 Meters, Vanessa Cortes (JR/Bakersfield, Calif.) had a first-place performance with a time of 18:52.80. McKenna Johnson (SO/Asbury, Iowa) finished first in the 3000 Steeplechase (12:04.49). Rachel Gadient (JR/Anamosa, Iowa) rounded out the Mustangs' first place performances with a personal best 4335 points in the Heptathlon, which qualified her for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships under the "B" Standard.
